In August 2015, Kim wrote a guest post Guest Post for the New York Academy of Medicine Blog “X-raying Orphans: Fictionalizing Medical History in Orphan #8” about what she learned about X-ray treatments on Jewish orphans in the early 20th century, the ethics involved with medical experimentation, and how she tried to deal with this subject matter in fiction.
